February Mission of the Month "Prayers and Squares Quilt Ministry"
Prayers & Squares Quilt Ministry at Hopewell is one of 22 Georgia chapters of
Prayers  & Squares International. The group sews patchwork quilts to give to people
who are seriously ill. There are only three rules to follow to provide one of these
beautiful quilts to someone you know would be comforted by owning one.

1) Ask the person who is ill if they would like to have a quilt
2) Fill out a Request Form to have the quilt made
3) The service is FREE, no strings attached

The women in the Hopewell chapter eagerly await your orders. They put a lot of love
and caring into each quilt and it would be their privilege to make a quilt for someone
you know and care about. Contact Nettie Wilson (770-306-7537) to order quilts
or ask for more information. This service is separate from and not connected
to our Congregation Care ministry. If you would like to make a donation to offset the cost of making quilts please make your check out to
Hopewell UMC and earmark “Prayers and Squares”.

Hopewell UMC Helps Those In Need
Hopewell UMC, in Tyrone, collected hand towels, wash cloths, nail clippers, combs, toothbrushes, soap, and bandages to make health kits for people who are displaced because of natural disasters.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) stores these health kits in a warehouse
so they can be ready to ship to disaster areas.

The congregation met for supper on Wednesday, October 6, to celebrate the end of the collection period and to thank God for His goodness and the opportunity to serve the needy. Hopewell assembled 200 health kits and shipped them to UMCOR to help with the next disaster. The successful project was sponsored by Hopewell’s Mission Committee and had full cooperation of the entire congregation.
