August - September item for UMCOR Health Kits
THANK YOU, HOPEWELL! You have donated 310 wash cloths. Soon we will announce the
number of nail files and fingernail clippers gathered in July.
The Mission Committee plans to purchase combs and bandages in bulk.
In the final two months of summer leading into early fall, the Mission Committee requests donations
of the following items for completion of individual health kits:
Bath-size bars of soap (3 oz. and up)
toothbrushes (single brushes only in original wrapper, No child-size brushes)
New Hand towels (size 15" X 25" up to 17" X 27" - no kitchen towels, please)
More nail files (not emery boards) and fingernail clippers
On Wednesday, October 6 when supplies items have been collected, the Mission Committee requests your presence at supper to celebrate the harvest of the needed goods; to thank God for His goodness and the opportunity to serve; and to join together to assemble health kits. Please mark your calendars with this evening of joy and celebration.
Please place items for health kits in the bin marked UMCOR health kits in the church foyer.
Thank you for working and giving together to make a difference.
Sincerely, The Mission Committee
September Mission of the Month
"United Methodist Children's Home"
2010 Work Day Offering
Healing Children – Uniting Families – Changing Lives
Our mission is to provide redemptive, healing services that bring meaningful change to the lives of children
and families. Grounded by scripture and the tradition of the church, we seek to bring the wholeness
of God’s love to persons through Christ.
The Work Day Offering for the children’s Home is taken once each year by the churches of the North Georgia conference to provide a significant portion of the operating income of the children’s Home. Since the early 1900’s church members have been asked to contribute one day’s pay to the Home. Visit their website for more information: www.umchildrenshome.org
