The Missions Committee helps to publicize missions that church members, individually and in groups, feel called to so that others may join or provide support. The committee also identifies possible areas of service not yet addressed by the congregation. In short, the committee clarifies, facilitates, and in some cases coordinates callings arising from the hearts and talents of people in the church which benefit the larger community and the world.
Hopewell has long-standing collaborative relationships with other benevolent Christian organizations in Fayette County, including Fayette Samaritans and the Real Life Center. Collections of clothing and food for those organizations are regularly scheduled throughout the year. In addition, the church participates with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to address natural disasters.
A recent form of outreach has been the creation of a garden and outdoor classroom at R.J. Burch Elementary School across the street from the church. The garden provides opportunities for children to learn how to grow vegetables for their families. Church members participated in the design and development of the garden and continue to provide support services to teachers and children using the garden.
