Unlike most martial arts, Tai Chi, which is often described as “Medication in Motion”, is a series of slow, methodical movements that, when practiced consistently and correctly, can improve one’s overall health.
It is effective in improving balance, strength and mental acuity while reducing stress and blood pressure. As a weight-bearing exercise, it is beneficial to those with osteoporosis and its gentle movements are helpful to those with arthritis and other debilitating illnesses.
Tai Chi requires a serious commitment and a lot of practice.
